----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Coupers: As a new owner of a Coupe (N2854H), I'm in the dark about use of the mixture control in my Coupe: The guy I bought it from says there is no need to adjust the mixture on the Coupe. Should I be leaning it in flight? If so, I'll need to install an EGT or CHT (or both?).... Please educate me on mixture leaning. I have over 1200 hours of turbine time, but >100 piston time, and not too smart on the whole subject....... One more question: When I go to kill the engine on my C-85, I pull the mixture out full lean, then give the throttle a pump.... 9 times out of 10 this kills the power, but occasionally it doesnt, and I have to just shut the mags off, which leaves unburnt gas in the cylinders, a no-no.... Whats going on here? Thanks, Matt www.geocities.com/c130h_pilot
