Mike, the Cessna 337 (?) that had been converted into a gyrocopter was
at Sun-n-fun last year (2001) and had been flown in.  It is a concept
vehicle for a company that was developing a commercial gyrocopter.  I
believe it was Carter copters but not sure.  It had the tail booms
turned upside down, had a gas turbine engine in the nose and had the
rear engine removed with a clamshell door in its place. There was a
torque tube and gearbox on the floor just behind the pilot and copilot
seat that drove a shaft up through the ceiling to the rotor.  Also had
the wings chopped off.
Interesting vehicle.
