Federal Aviation Administration Dear Sirs, June 2, 2002 I would request that you look into this topic more in-depth before issuing any airworthiness directive that may affect the Ercoupe fleet. I am not going to repeat all the well-documented and researched letters that I have read on the Ercoupe web by fellow Ercoupe owners-- you have their comments. Please add my two cents to the group that would oppose an AD until alternative methods (such as removal of the wings periodically to inspect for corrosion) have been explored. I would hope that we can find a way to inspect without cutting more holes in our airplanes. The "swiss cheese" wings are enough already! I appreciate your time. Sincerely, John Barsness 2588 E.
