This year, assuming I have my AC ready, I plan to fly to Arlington
completely via dead reckoning. Last year I managed to fly back that way
but
going up cheated and used my GPS a couple times. Probably could have done
it without but I really didn't want to venture into a MOA or some illegal
part of Boeing's space.

For you folks up in the foggy NW corner of the state... any tips on good
topographic features for waypoints between Chehalis (where I'll leave the
comfort of I-5) and either Spanaway or Lake Tapps? Seems like last year
that was an area that sort of "looked the same"- lots of little rivers and
lakes and roads and powerlines. Of course I don't want to venture into
the
Rainier MOA.

Also, last time I flew through a beautiful "gap" between mountains. Neat
site passing a gorgeous J3 and exchanging wing wags. I think this was the
area just S of Issaquah but I don't remember fully. Pretty area though
and
a natural place to fly through to stay E of the masses. Am I remembering
correctly?

Who else is planning to go up this year? Let's get a SQUADRON and do a
formation fly-by!!! You have a month to get ready- let's do it!!!
