I think if you got the information for gross it would be useful and then we could extrapolate for over and under gross. Perhaps there is some math wizard out there who could do this. In the mean time I guess I'll use 85MPH indicated and assume 7:1 glide ratio under all conditions. But will pay more attention to local wind direction going with the wind for emergency distance and into wind for landing. What do you think? Chuck I never heard back from anyone who had done the glide test on their plane. Re-reading Stick and Rudder recently, I noticed he said best glide was about 1.5 x stall. True stall at 1400 or 1450 is probably around 50 mph so 75-85 should be close to the best glide ratio. The only way to really know is to test it. Beware that MANY old airspeed indicators LIE like the old sick dogs they are. I had one that was claiming >15% too high an airpspeed. With that lying airspeed, on my 415-D at 1400 lb., best glide was at an INDICATED 80+ mph or so. (Lost the raw data and never got around to re-running the tests, sorry.) Ratio dropped off slowly on the higher speed side and dropped off more rapidly on the slower side.
