Thanks for the great article on flying to Alaska. A tip that was passed on
to me by the pilot who flew up my Coupe, if you have no rudders use a
sleeping bag. This will warm your feet as well. The poor fellow who flew
mine up in May was always cold, he blocked off the fresh air, had the
cabin heat pulled out and clamped open, but he forgot about the instrument
cooling pipe which was sending zero degree air right at him. I discovered
this hose during my annual and had a good laugh, he also lost a jug in
Lethbridge and was treated fairly by the Canadians, it cost $550 to remove
and repair the stuck valve. On a less humorous note, Lee from Skyport has
suffered two aneurisms and is still in intensive care, please direct your
prayers in his direction, he has been wonderful to work with and helped me
figure out a lot of things which were not in any Coupe books.
