Bob, I would treat that attachment as an explosive device. I ONLY open attachments with these suffixes: .jpg .gif .msg I treat these attachment types as almost certain viruses: .exe .com .vbs .scr .bat .pif Anything else, I treat as very suspect because even Word, Excel and other documents can contain script viruses. I would only open an executable file (second category) if I had talked to the sender and pre-arranged to have that file sent to me AND had saved it to disk and had my virus checker inspect it. Be sure your virus check program has up-to-date signature files because if your signature file is old, you could easily miss the newest, most active viruses. I've stayed virus free for 17+ years of active e-mailing. Did anyone else receive this message? Does anyone know who is sending this and is it safe to open? I have Norton Works with anti-virus but I'm a little shy of the exe in the attachment. I don't want to delete it until I find out if it's on the level and rally is something interesting.
