I can not see why driiping a teaspoon full of fuel is a problem in the
plane. My Stromberg can run the whole headertank dry on a bad week. It
just keeps dripping and dripping.
That's why I close the valve from the header tank and all is fine. 
I understand that any attempt to fix the dripping problem leads to
replacing the float valve and needle , which will last a years or so and
then you'll have it all over again. 
Closing the valve is a much cheaper fix. The dripping action is just a
small design mishap in the carburetor, it does not (or should not)
affect the general function.
