Greg, a few years back I was working under the panel and I inadvertently knocked off the hose going to the encoder. I didn't really notice much of anything until I was coming in for a landing and noticed that the air speed reading seemed much higher than my seat of the pants told me I was going. The air speed would also swing much more than normal.
