When I rented my hangar I decided nothing was good enough for my coupe so I accepted a roll of old red carpeting that was in a dumpster and layed it out in the hangar and gae it a thorough cleaning. My coupe now rests on it like royalty. It also makes it great to crawl under the coupe and wipe engine oil off the underside, or just take a nap under the coupe on a rainy afternoon. While lying there, one starts looking at things under the wings and belly that get little attention otherwise. I looked at the black holes just behind the gap seal between the wing and the waking box where I can get at the bellcrank for the aileron. It is disgusting! This hole has a tendency to retain al the mud and dirt the wheels kick up. (What I call backspackle when I ride a bicycle with no mudguards). No good for the bellcrank or corrosion. I am so tempted to cut a square piece of that orange rubber stuff other planes use as baffle seals around the engine and attach it with a couple of pop rivets to the end of the gap seal strip. It would be just enough to cover the hole and keep the mud out and would be flexible enough to move down with the aileron. has anybody thought of this before? Ha it been tried? Has it been flight tested? Is he still alive? Alan Fairclough N87333 ================================================================== TO UNSUBSCRIBE go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm
