You can even remove the rods and examine the rod bearings, but they're probably fine... If the case is not leaking and oil pressure is good, I'd consider not splitting it at this point. Of course, the manufacturer's recommendation is probably to overhaul it based on time, but there are a lot of bottom ends with 1200 hours and 24 years on them that are running fine...
