There are two schools of thought on this.  I personally do not think this
is 
a good practice.  Pulling the prop through wipes oil off the cylinder
walls, 
lifters and cam lobes and also squeezes it out of the bearing clearance 
areas.  What little oil that may be pumped back in is not significant.  I 
prefer to leave the engine in exactly the position it last stopped until
it 
is to be run again.  And then, I prefer to run it long enough to get 
completely up to temperature and boil off any water that may have
condensed 
into the oil.  So, I guess you can guess where I stand on ground
running...

I've taken engines apart that have been sitting untouched for years and
there 
is always plenty of oil in the bearings to survive a start.  However, if
you 
feel strongly, wait until the next time you're going to run it, and then
pull 
it through 20 blades or so right before you start it. 

Or, do what ever you think is best...
