Well,

I just got back from changing the seal. Took me about 1 1/2 hrs. The old
one came out pretty easy, and I used some of my spray (evaporating)
solvent from work to loosen up the old gunk around the case halves. The
big problem that I fought with was that blasted spring!  I finally got
the right combination of a 90 degree bent scribe, and a small bent
screwdriver with a v- split in it to coax the spring into position. I
think I wrestled that spring for about 45 minutes. 

It pushed in pretty easy with 2 big flat bent screwdrivers. I used some
aerospace grey RTV sealant on the splitline, and a little around the seal
to help keep it from rotating. 

I'll let it all set up for a couple of days before I fly it.
