First, I always used avgas in my Coupe.  Second, it has been demonstrated
that Auto Gas is OK in our engines.  Thirdly, you can take precautions to
make certain that water is not in the fuel that you put in your tanks.
Fourthly, if there is alcohol in the auto gas, it must be labeled on the
pump, and yes, the alcohol will deteriorate the rubber gaskets and seals.
And lastly, if one figures the actual savings between avgas and Auto Gas,
it
just ain't worth the effort.  Pity though that we can't get 80 octane
avgas
anymore.  It's a real catch 22, cause Auto gas is probably better for our
engines.  If pilots using the Auto fuel would only follow the correct
procedures and make certain the gas met the requirements for the STC,
there
wouldn't be any problems out there.
