Hi all, there has been an interest in adding more advanced authentication to Gluster/NFS. A feature has been proposed to add support for an exports(5) like file, with the ability to allow/deny exports based on netgroups: - http://www.gluster.org/community/documentation/index.php/Features/Exports_Netgroups_Authentication
Patches have been provided (by Shreyas), reworked to function against the current master branch (by Jiffin) and additional splitting and cleanups (by me).
