If the pages were all under a specific tree, redirecting that entire tree is actually very simple and would allow search engine caches or references from other web sites (blogs) to remain relevant.

In this case, I think pages were (re)moved out of the git repo altogether. Even
if it was possible to set up redirects to another site, the number of pages
moved can be large in number. Having the search index rebuilt to reflect the
change would be the ideal fix :( This seems to be one of the known issues[1]
with RTD and mkdocs integration.

FWIW, I'm currently relying on Google search operators to find the content I
need. It's external and ugly but it works.

Perhaps we should just set up the proper redirects when we remove a page?

Problem still exists :-/

Using the documentation is just frustrating the moment.

Please fix!

Thanks.

Hi List,

for me it seems the documentation is somewhat broken at them moment.

If you go to https://gluster.readthedocs.org/en/latest/ an search for
"sharding" you get 3 links. All links are broken:

"SORRY - This page does not exist yet"

If you search for something in Google (e.g. "glusters sharding") you're
pointed to the old gluster documentation with the first link, which
should have an info, that the docs now are at readthedocs.org
