Not a lot has happened in GD2 since the dev3 release. Prashanth has worked on getting a working aggregation mechanism for transactions. [1] We switched to requiring go1.6 as a minimum, as go1.5 is no longer under support. I've not had a lot of progress on volgen in the last week.
