I'm sure several of us can confirm that it doesn't let us in if we get
the syntax wrong! But I think the situation is confused by the fact
that:

a) It doesn't seem to be documented.

b) It's rather unforgiving and unintuitive - could we follow common
practise and allow whitespace to follow the comma?

I will change the code to ignore the whitespaces ....
