My stress-test is building NetBSD. It can even get higher than 230 MB:
Here is it, while it is working fine:

PID USER PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME   WCPU   CPU COMMAND
839 root      85    0  451M  430M select  27:08 16.50% 16.50% glusterfsd

There are around a hunderd open files in the glusterfs filesystem at
that time.
