Given that ssh access is disabled by default, which I understand why
that is, I would be interested in learning what the options are for
enabling something like net-snmp on the server. Between snmp and ssh
access there would be a starting point for getting data.

Hello,
Is there a way to monitor a gluster platform server via snmp?
Given that you can configure snmpd to trigger and report the results
of more or less anything, the answer is theoretically « yes ». The
real question is whether you can gather the data you want reported i
n the first place.
