Hi Hareem. Please do a search on the mailing list using the term "ucarp", and that will show you how some people have implemented virtual IP addresses and the ucarp program to protect against the scenario that you have just described.
I do this on my own setup, and it works just fine. The procedures for failing out a bad server node and then reintegrating it are documented in the Administrators guide.
