I was able to get new servers recently, but for 2 1/2 years I ran with
mixed 32 and 64 bit clients AND servers.
I still run several 32 bit clients.

And in particular, are there any problems in running a 32-bit gluster
client with a 64-bit gluster server pool (assuming the same version
for both)?
If there are, at least can one run a 32-bit NFS client mounting via
NFS from a 64-bit gluster server?

Hi,
It was my understanding that 32bit gluster is not supported, and nor is it
recommended. I remember a post quite some time ago to that effect. Has
this changed or am I remembering this wrong?

I would gladly contribute the i386 debs myself; but I can't run a
repository at the moment. I noticed the current repository at
gluster.org is signed by you. Would you guys trust unknown me to send
compiled software for it?

I noticed Debian offers 32-bit packages, but they're old (naturally).
I assume it isn't safe to run old clients with new servers (i.e. 3.0.5
vs. 3.3.1)?
That is correct, it is not safe.
Our park is mixed i386/amd64, so we'd enjoy 32-bit debs… But I suppose
I can install it manually, or fallback to NFS.
It's the community. Someone in the community needs to step up and build
32-bit .debs.
