I've been battling with the same problem on my smartphone & tablet. I have alternative 'From' addresses that work perfectly from the Gmail browser version but all mail sent using non-default 'From' addresses (in the 'From' dropdown) are sent by the Default address. Anyone able to help. I'm running the latest (18Mar2013) Gmail app on both devices and both are Jelly Bean. However, I thionk that this has been an issue ever since I started using the Gmail alternative 'From' facility a year or so ago. I've tried the changing the 'Alias' settings on the browser but no change...
