Bob, You don't need that lab anymore. Disable it and start using the new compose window. It provides a means of inserting images into the email body without the lab. You can insert them from a file or from a web address. You can also just drag the photos into the email body and insert them that way. Or you can cut and paste images you find online directly into the email body. I think that's what you were asking for.
