I'm not using that feature, I've used the priority inbox pretty much since it started, but... I feel the point to categories is to simplify labels for those that don't put thought/effort/time into their labels. Not to imply they are lazy or anything, but perhaps they just aren't used to the volume of mail some us us get that makes labels necessary.
