Way back, some Gmail users had problems with very tiny fonts when printed, which Gmail eventually ironed out. You can try bypassing Gmail's print handler by pressing Ctrl-Shift-P ... or by clicking on the "Print using system dialog" near the bottom of the print page tab. Maybe by using the normal system dialog (your operating system's normal print dialog pop-up), you may get different results. There are so many printers out there, the problem you are having might be unique to your printer and OS.
