You received that in GMail, or another account?  My guess would be either
it was spam meant to scare you into clicking their link and giving up
information; or someone was creating an account and accidentally said it
should be linked to yours.  Either way, the link shouldn't have been
complete until you clicked some form of accept in the receiving mailbox.
