Are you certain the emails are not there? Some Gmail users do not realize that messages are displayed in pages, and when they scroll to the bottom, that's not the end; there are more on the next page. If you go to "All Mail", what messages are on the "Oldest" page? Have you looked in your "Trash"? Also click on "Details" (bottom right corner) to see if someone else might have been accessing your account.
