Yes, of course I mark everyone of those as spam but I do get half a dozen 
of new ones on a daily basis in the last month or so. It appears that few 
friends who have me in their contact book got their mail account 'session 
hijacked' few times recently which would possibly explain the sudden 
increase. Sounds like nothing I can do about that other than marking them 
as spam!
