It *mostly* doesn't happen to me.  I also use Chrome.​  However, in <1% of
the incoming emails, Chrome seems to not understand that my computer's
screen has a finite width, and it displays everything in ultra-wide format.
 This is with the ordinary zoom level (100%).  Sometimes there is a scroll
bar, but usually not.  Sometimes the left-right cursor keys work to scroll,
but sometimes not.  It is a pain in the neck when it happens.  And the
puzzling thing is that the messages are just text; it's not like there is
an enormous graphic that forces this to happen.  Weird.
