​What periods? If you are talking about the '--' that is the standard
separator for signatures <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signature_block>.
That is two hyphens, not dots.
The 'read more dots' as you call them is called an Ellipsis
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellipsis>.​
