If you Archive a message, no. Archiving means taking it out of your
Inbox. And that's exactly all it means.

The message doesn't move anyplace special, such as to off-line storage.
All your messages always stay in one place; it's just a difference of which
labels are attached to them.

Each person has their own personal preferences. But I've found that many
Gmail users don't realize that they do not need to keep every message in
their Inbox, for fear of losing them. I like to use the Inbox only for
messages that need further attention. All messages I am finished with, I
move out of the Inbox. It just means they are removed from that view.
Those messages are just as accessible to me as before.

Regards,
Andy
