It's hard to say without seeing it, but I know I've seen some google groups
over-run by spammers if they don't control their access better.

You've asked your question of a bunch of users of Gmail.  While some of us
also run groups, I think your question is best directed towards Google
themselves.  They are accessible through the help menus.
