Hi Valentin Gmail is a web browser app. If you click on the image within Gmail, it will preview it within the browser in an overlayed 'light box'. If you download the attachment and then open it, it will be opened with the application that is set to open that file type. To change that, right-click the file, select 'Properties' and then click the 'Change' button next to the 'Opens with' section on the 'General' tab, like so:
