You'll find that the universal Ctrl-b for bold will work. Ctrl-i and Ctrl-u
too! Not sure how that is remotely onerous or horrible.

I'm also not sure why you'd have to reload anything to close a chat. Have
you tried to usual 'clear cache and cookies' step?

Please do include all pertinent information in your next post e.g. what
browser, version thereof and operating system you are using, along with
what steps you have taken thus far to solve the problem on your own.
