I have the exact same issue as this. Gmail is re-sending an email I sent to my now ex-girlfriend from February 2014. This email contains photos as well, and when I first attempted to send it there was issues with size and it jammed in the outbox. I can't recall for sure if it sent back then or not. Anyway Gmail has decided to re-send the email at least twice over the last few days (16 months later) which has been very unpleasant for me and the recipient.
Was your issue resolved? Or did this just eventually stop? I am scrambling for a solution.
