Actually, the previous Emoji did *not* work fine. They were not universal. The point of Emoji is to be (mostly) universal so that they display on a multitude of devices. See this Wikipedia article <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emoji>. Emoji displays fine in my Sent Mail.
