Zach,
Yes, from the way it looks it does seem like a step back. I should have
been a little bit clearer about how I handle my e-mail pertaining to the
list. The way I have the filter set up is to add a label to any e-mail
that comes from gmail-users but also leave it in the inbox. I usually
delete most of the messages I get from gmail-users after reading or
replying to them except for ones I find informative. Those I just click on
the Archive button which removes the inbox label and leaves it in the
label. Because my gmail-users label is really only for messages that I
consider informative that I want to keep I do not want to clutter it with
my sent messages. If I want to see those I will go look in the Sent Mail
label. If I want to find an old message from the gmail-users group I go to
the Groups web interface and search there.

Hope this clarifies a little bit the way I handle the list mail.

Thanks again for everyone's help.

Jeff
