I'm sorry but I don't have the time that I used to. I can't reproduce your error and I am able to get the addons window to open in a new tab (I had to set it via about:config because that addon's preference window doesn't work). Some of this might be because I'm on a mac.
If you could try installing gmarks again and tell me if you see any errors in the error console that would be helpful. It would happen either when you attempt to open the addons window or when you open a new window of Firefox, I'm not sure at which time.
