I wonder if you're seeing the same behavior described in the thread "GMarks menu button sometimes unresponsive in Firefox 3.6?" (http:// groups.google.com/group/gmarks/browse_thread/thread/6824e1ca2992938a? hl=en). When I encounter that problem, the GMarks button does not show any drop down menu. If I click the button on its left, then the button on its right, then click the GMarks button, repeating up to 2-3 more times, then the GMarks menu becomes active and I am "alive again".
