In fact it seems that firefox remove the ability to change the favicons for 
performance reasons (no API anymore).
So I don't know how to do to get the favicons back. I wonder if it is 
possible.

If you really want to keep the favicons as i do, you can switch to "Pale 
Moon". This is a browser based on firefox with small differences, like the 
ability to configure the status bar, the downloader, etc. It's fully 
compatible with firefox plugins... I like it!
