Your update has worked for me for many years.  Thank you very much.

Firefox is now requiring add-ins to be signed by the Mozilla admins.  This 
pretty much means they have to be submitted for approval to the mozilla 
add-on web site.  Is there any possibility that you can do this, since the 
original author is nowhere to be found.

Right now, in FF43, I can use about:config to disable the need for signing, 
but even that is going to go away in the next release.
