We don't want to return an error if we have the wrong line endings. We want any system to read any file. (Djc, wendy, correct me if I am wrong)
I think we are supposed to already have something like you suggest (agnostic getline) but clearly it doesn't seem to be doing the trick. From: Valenzuela, Gustavo F.
