I have it running now.  I suspect it's just timing out; that script takes a long time to run (at least on Linux).  It is not (so far) crashing, and ran to completion on Ubuntu (just finished):

Attached for Red Hat and Ubuntu. *These are runs on the SRP_NPlates branch*, commit a2aeba141f.  (GSFC folks might see the code as commit 133ff0a29; there was a cmake fix required to build on Linux that I might not have pushed yet.)
