The Linux build instructions on the wiki are a bit dated. I'm currently
building on Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) 64-bit, and have cleaned up a
number of issues related to using the newer GCC that ships with Karmic.
Those issues are fixed in the development branch of the code, but not
yet migrated into the trunk code.
If this information doesn't help, I'll need to know a few things about
your setup before I can help further:
* What distribution of Linux are you using? I think you said Ubuntu
9.10 in your message header, but I need to know if you're using
the 32-bit or the 64-bit release.
* How did you get wxWidgets? GMAT isn't UNICODE compatible (yet!),
and most of the pre-built wx libraries are built with UNICODE
enabled. You'll probably want to build wxWidgets yourself.
* What compiler are you using? If you're using gcc 4.4 (the default
under Karmic) and either the trunk code from SourceForge or the
tarball of the September 2008 release, you'll find that there are
build errors because the GCC coders rearranged the header files in
the compiler collection. In fact, they've done that twice since
the September 2008 release, and both times I've needed to go in
and fix the header calls.
Let's move this discussion onto the development forum. (I'm happy to put
it there, but want your permission before placing your posts there.) If
you'd like, you can just copy this message there and reply to it. I'll
do what I can to help you get GMAT building on your system.

Overview: The GMAT developers list is a mailing list for current development of
the General Mission Analysis Tool. This list is useful for tracking what
developers are working on and for asking question related to building and
modifying GMAT.
Things that go to gmat-developers@lists.sourceforge.net:
* Development process discussions
* Warnings about repository issues, major commits, merges
* Implementation discussions for features under development
* Design discussions that are too early for documentation in design specs
* Compilation questions
* Defect discussions that require design and input from many people (Note:
"Standard" defect comments are in Bugzilla database[1])
Things that definitely DO NOT go to gmat-developers@lists.sourceforge.net:
* Anything with personal information
* Anything with SBU restrictions (see below) or unapproved publications
* Bug reports (these go in Bugzilla database:
http://pows003.gsfc.nasa.gov/bugzilla/)
* Feature requests (these go in Bugzilla database)
* Discussions between group subset that are not of interest to the entire group:
"Shawn, when can I come over and help with the test system?"

Gray areas:
* If a post might be of interest to third party contributors, send it to the
list if the post does not fall under the DO NOT send category.
* If you question whether a post might fall under the DO NOT SEND policy, don't

Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) information is defined by NM1600-55[2]. The
determination is made by the GMAT project lead, but some examples are given by
5.24.2.2.(e):
- IT security information
- ITAR/EAR information
- trade secrets/proprietary information
- patentable inventions
- personal private information
- other categories listed in the NM

I'm working on the visual style for our documentation, and I'll be asking for
some feedback over the next few days.
First up: fonts!
The NASA Style Guide says we should use Garamond or Helvetica. We're not bound
to follow that, but it's a useful starting point. Below are the samples to
consider.
I've also attached the original PDFs, so please look at those for the
full-resolution versions. Please reply directly to me with your votes, and I'll
compile them.
