I'm interested to use GMAT model a electrically pulsed vacuum arc thruster
system with very high Isp (I developed such a system for earlier Cubesat space
missions which have flown) module definition in GMAT. I was thinking it would
be interesting to try to "fly" a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) to GEO
parking, GEO, or GEO Graveyard orbit for a SmallSat.

My thoughts are:

  1. Deployment from the launch vehicle on the GTO trajectory, plus a little
bit of motion in 3-axis due to the deployer of the SmallSat
  2. Account for very little drag, but perhaps effects due to solar pressure?
  3. Take reading from the navigation and attitude determination system
  4. Fire engines to form a combined plane change and altitude adjustment for
a bit and coast.
  5. If not reached waypoint, repeat 3-4.

At that altitude, do we have any gravity manifolds to take advantage of by
going to any nearby vicinity with the intention of getting back to GEO
graveyard?

Thanks.
