Sam,

There are no graphics with the GmatConsole version.

The libMatlabInterface is probably not loading because you will need to set
your MATLAB installation location before running GmatConsole. See the note on
the download page (or in the included README.txt) titled ‘MATLAB interface note
for Mac users’. That will explain how to set the path so that GMAT can find
MATLAB.

For Mac, all plugins are delivered as part of (and inside) the
Gmat-R2016a_Beta.app bundle (which should not be modified). There should be no
‘plugins’ folder outside that bundle (despite that folder being referenced in
the gmat startup file).

Thanks
Wendy

Wendy,

I can run the GmatConsole from a Terminal window, but I don't get any graphics.

One more observation. In running the GmatConsole in a Terminal window, I
noticed a message from GMAT:

*** Library "../plugins/libMatlabInterface" did not open.

I checked the R2016a subdirectory and lo and behold the plugins subdirectory is
missing. Can I use the plugins subdirectory GMAT-R2015a in R2016a?

Hope this helps.

Sam,

We will have to investigate this, as we have not yet been able to reproduce it.

In the meantime, can you successfully run the GmatConsole from a Terminal
window?

Thanks

Wendy,

The bin folder resides in the /Users/user/GMAT/R2016a/ directory. Its contents
are:

    gmat_startup_file.txt
    GMAT-R2016a_Beta.app
    GMAT.ini
    GmatConsole aliased to /Users/user/GMAT/R2016a/bin/GmatConsole-R2016a
    GmatConsole-R2016a
    libCInterface.dylib aliased to
/Users/user/GMAT/R2016a/bin/libCInterface.R2016a.dylib
    libCInterface.R2016a.dylib

As for the opening procedure you asked me to perform, I'm still getting the
same error.

Hope this helps.

Sam,

I don’t know why this would be happening. There is perhaps some issue
unpacking the archive.

When you go (using the Finder) to the actual place that you unzipped the
archive, go to the bin directory, right-click on the Gmat-R2016a_Beta.app, and
select ‘Open’, what happens?

Also, what are the contents of that bin folder?

Wendy,

I download and unzipped a fresh copy of GMAT for the Mac from sourceforge.
Although the subdirectory under the
/private/var/folders/65/7cxpqns144q6wx5lyb7zcyh80000gq/T/AppTranslocation/ is
different, I still get the same result. GMAT-2016a_Beta for whatever reason is
copying itself to this subdirectory and and is attempting to read the startup
file from there.

Please advise.

Sam Dupree.

P.S. - out of curiosity what is the difference between GMAT-R2015a_Beta and
GMAT-R2016a_Beta? The R2015a appears to run fine under Mac OS X Sierra (v.
10.12.1) while R2016a does not. Something must be different between the two and
that difference manifests itself during startup under Mac OS X Sierra, but what
could it be?

Sam,

There is nothing in the code or bundle that would cause the app itself to be
copied there, so that is a mystery.

We replaced the original Mac package on SourceForge with an updated zip archive
late last Wednesday (10/16). Please download that one and try it to see if it
works for you.

Thanks
Wendy

Wendy,

I downloaded GMAT-R2016a_Beta.app after the announcement of GMAT-2016a was
posted. The GMAT-2016a was left intact in my home directory after unzipping the
download. It appears that GMAT-2016a_Beta is somehow copying itself to a
subdirectory under /private.

Please advise.

Sam Dupree.

Sam,

I have never seen an error like this.

Some comments/questions:

1. GMAT-R2016a_Beta.app and GmatConsole were not tested on Sierra. Since
you say that R2015a works on Sierra, though, I would not expect an issue with
this release.

2. This looks like it is looking in a temporary folder for the startup
file (because of #3 below).

3. It looks like your GMAT-R2016a_Beta.app is somehow in this temporary
folder. I am not sure how that would have happened.

4. The GMAT-R2016a_Beta.app and GmatConsole must remain in the bin folder
for them to work. The gmat startup file needs to be in the bin folder as well.
In fact, all of the GMAT files need to remain where they unzip to, relative to
each other.

5. When did you download from SourceForge? There was a zipped version put
out there last Thursday – try that one, if that’s not what you have.

Wendy

I'm attempting to run GMAT-2016a-Brya.app on a Mac Pro running Mac OS X
ver. 10.12.1 (Sierra). GMAT-2016a-Beta.app crashes. The message
displayed on the splash screen I've attached as screenshot to this note.

In looking further into message displayed, I observed that the startup
file was not created in the subdirectory cited in the message:

Samuels-Mac-Pro:d user$ pwd
/private/var/folders/65/7cxpqns144q6wx5lyb7zcyh80000gq/T/AppTranslocation/88104F28-25AC-4BEE-8730-D1C97F0A26A2/d
Samuels-Mac-Pro:d user$ ls -l
total 0
drwxr-xr-x@ 3 user staff 102 Oct 27 23:04 GMAT-R2016a_Beta.app
Samuels-Mac-Pro:d user$

One more point; the R2015a version of GMAT-Beta.app for the Mac starts
up successfully on a Mac Pro under Mac OS X Sierra.

Please advise.

Sam Dupree.
