Hi there,

As far as I understood from here: http://geuz.org/pipermail/gmsh/2014/009412.html there have been some changes in the code related to the reproducibility of the mesh. But those changes are not included in the latest release 2.8.5 and only available in the recent development versions.

Best,
Mikhail

Hey fellow CEE Aggie! It depends a lot on the meshing algorithm you pick. If you need stability in meshing you could use the structured algorithms (transfinite meshes). I use them frequently to generate nice structured meshes. As to what causes the different structure. No idea. Try the different unstructured meshing algorithms (Mesh Adapt, Delaunay, Frontal) and see if they all have that feature. Regards, Jos?
