Gly is not an L-amino acid and can thus populate L-alpha & R-alpha as well as L- beta & R-beta space with the same energetic cost. I was simply commenting on the (almost) unique properties of Asp/Asn to i to i h-bond. I'm sure that Glu/Gln has the ability, but you've got to freeze out more degrees of freedom C(beta) and C(gamma) vs. C(beta) only to get that H-bond and entropy starts to beat enthalpy...
