A postdoctoral position in simulations of membranes and membrane proteins is available from 1 December 2013 (starting date flexible) for one year (with possible extension) at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), Odense in the group of Dr Himanshu Khandelia.
Knowledge of statistical physics is necessary and some experience in theory and/or simulations is highly beneficial. The successful candidate(s) will have access to the DCSC-funded "Horseshoe" super-cluster of more than 2,000 processors at SDU, and large European supercomputing installations to perform their simulations. The projects revolve around molecular simulations of biomembrane-associated phenomena, including simulations of ion transport. The successful candidate will work in a highly collaborative atmosphere at the Center for Biomembrane Physics MEMPHYS together with theorists and experimental scientists.
